The frequency of loss depends on the update version. One recent version saw me having to redownload approx 50 tracks every day. Current version is about 50 per week. In some instances in the past I lost around tracks in one go. Only pattern in my usage that I can find is that once I go above tracks, it becomes a bigger problem.
I essentially lost all of my downloaded music too. Well, first I lost like 70 percent of it. Redownloaded a bunch of songs I'm thinking about switching back to Google Music. I think it has something to do with their most recent update.

Yes, my observation is also that I can get back disk space only by deleting all data, including settings. Very annoying. I can't find any of the steps to do -but deleted the app and reinstall it give me back the space on my phone.

Spotify needs to design their app better, since turning off the download knob won't actually delete the playlist from your phone. Absolutely stupid. Come spotify make a change and let app remove files from device if they are deleted. This cannot be that hard.
This is not a solution. I have a question. Do you have to redownload it after they delete? After joining Spotify, I downloaded from my very old memory bank. I would like to delete every single and artist and start over.
